Lyrics

The Night the Prince of Peace was Born

Halleluiah was the word of praise when Christ the king was born those days
The Angels sang their hymns for all to hear
A manger and a child held tight the stars they shone on that silent night
As Mary and Josephs secret filled the air

Nestled in a crib of hay where oxen , lamb and ass did lay
A baby given up for all our sin
A fragile life held in her hands while Mary wondered of his plans
The will of God he was now to begin.

Chorus
It was a holy night , silent night all was calm all was bright
With stars brightly shining down on him
There was peace on earth, the Christ child’s birth
A time when souls felt its worth.
It was the night the Prince of Peace was born.

As Sheppard’s watching flocks by night traveled forth to see the light
That shined over where he laid.
They gathered round to see the babe they had no gifts instead they prayed
For Him and all that he would save.

Three kings from far off Orient they laid their gifts, before him bent
With glowing hearts they praised his Holy name.
The king of kings a baby child in Mary’s hands three beguiled
The Savior ; God’s eternal flame.

It was a holy night , silent night all was calm all was bright
With stars brightly shining down on him
There was peace on earth, the Christ child’s birth
A time when souls felt its worth.
It was the night the Prince of Peace was born.

Repeat once.
